Upholstered accent chairs – A proper seating arrangement in a room that not only provide comfortable places to sit, but it also encourages conversation, directs the flow of pedestrian traffic and focuses attention on key focal points of the room. Many of these objects is achieved by use of secondary seats also known as accent chairs.
Select accent chairs that are in a style that complements the existing couch or other furniture in the room. Although accent furniture need not be exactly the same style, it should be equal. For example, upholstered accent chairs look better than near the sofas back straight accent chairs. Select accent chairs in a color different from the couch. Accent chairs should be different than other seats, but blend in at the same time. Determine where the accent chairs to be placed. If the chairs will be used to read, place them near a window. If you will be using the chairs as overflow seating in a room with a sofa, place them close to the couch.

Place a coffee table, ottoman or another focal point in the middle of accent chairs. Choose a table is round or oval to offset the straight lines of the chairs. Place the chairs diagonally opposite each other, with seats facing a center focal point. Leave a distance of 2 1/2 meters around the edges of each seat to allow pedestrian traffic in the room. Place small side table near the accent chairs to keep drinks and table lamps. Floor lamps also work well next to upholstered accent chairs if you do not have a side table.
