Decorative faux stone wall panels are a quick and easy way to update the look of a room without extensive remodeling. Wall panels can usually be installed on a weekend once the panels have been conditioned to the room. By decorating with wall panels, owners can hide damaged and uneven walls without the mess of drywall.
Place the decorative faux stone wall panels in the room where they will be installed at least 48 hours before installation. This will allow the board to become conditioned to the humidity and temperature of the room and will prevent the panels from cracking once nailed in place. The face of the wall should be relatively level so that the decorative panel did not lean over a curve of a wall.

Installing faux stone wall panels, search the wooden posts on the wall with a study finder and make a chalk line to mark the location of each stud. The new lining should be nailed to the posts. Measure the distance between each of the wooden posts. If the distance is more than 16 inches, horizontal bracing should be fixed to the wall between the studs so that the wood siding will have substantial support and wood to nail.
