Build Front Porch Awning

Dec 29th

Front Porch Awning – During spring and summer, there is nothing as satisfying as spending a relaxing afternoon or evening on the front porch. If your porch or patio gets a lot of suns, however, you may not find this experience so enjoyable. Everything you need to turn your warm, sunny porch into a comfortable outdoor living room is an awning. Rather than buying an expensive awning kit, consider building your own for a fraction of the cost.

A low-cost awning porch is fairly easy to build, and greatly for you to enjoy your porch. Measure your porch to determine the dimensions of the front porch awning. Note the length and width of the entrance and add 3 inches of all four sides of the measurement – this will give you the dimensions of the awning. Cut a piece of drop cloth canvas for your measurements. If you have a large porch, you may need to sew two or three pieces of cloth. Sew a half-inch hem on all four sides of the front porch awning cover.
